Lol, this reminds me of a storm that went through several years ago. My wife and I went up a day early to beat the storm and recommended my son and his buddy do the same.
Buddy: "Pffft! Tell your dad I have 4 wheel drive and monster snow tires, and not to worry himself. I'm sure we can handle it."
They got on the expressway right before they closed the gates due to the storm, and sat stopped in traffic for 6-7 hours. They finally made it up after sitting in the truck over 12 hours. Then took a nap.
Me: "Hey guys how was the drive up? Pffft, glad you could make it.";)

Well it's 34 F here in Hayward with a pretty good rain right now and it looks like it's not going to turn to snow for a while when it's this freaking warm

Daughter bought a 2014 Polaris Indy 600 ES. Perfect sled for her, can't wait to get it in the snow! Your a good Brother, I know Todd appreciates all the work you put in to keeping his sled going! just keep him out of the really deep snow! lol! I'll be up next weekend, maybe I should keep a trailer hooked up!

Stay Home. There's plenty of winter left to enjoy after this snow. Not worth it to be out on the road. -- It's the other guy that is the problem when out on the road in a storm.

Still looks like you are going to get a good amount. The latest has the storm moving further west but still looks like hayward in the 12+ area

Patience... Young Glass Hoppa. Stoam will come when it's time.

You post to-moawa. Give snow amounts.

I'm interested to know if people up north complain about winter as much they do in Illinois? Or if they actually embrace it and get out to enjoy it.

Please tell me to keep my chin up John! Rain here in Rice Lake, WI as well. Lots of T-boomers to the southwest of us. I recall a storm from a few years ago that initially had big totals forecasted but the T-boomers down south sucked most of the moisture right out of the storm.

Please tell me that this isn't going to happen to this storm! NWS is already backing down on snow totals..... :(

I am not seeing anything that would make me want to make any dramatic changes to my forecast from this morning.

When it comes, it looks to come hard, perhaps like you have never seen it snow before.

Here in the south side of the cities, it snowed hard for about an hour, and since then, just light stuff, despite the radar looking like heavy snow.

Guess we'll see in the morning! Clearly its not done yet.

NWS (I know I know!) has just backed us down again......ONLY 8-12" now. Was 13"-18" earlier today.

Yowsers! Satellite keeps losing signal. Pouring rain, thunder and lighting and the sky just turned a weird color.

Snowing & blowing crazy hard here in Phelps at least an 1 inch per hour but see the dreaded dry slot looming but could slip southeast of here ....I hope.
