Question about SLP Product

I've got something like this on my 93 XCR that my kid rides, and when I put the suspension in the lower holes, the steering got VERY difficult, made a lot more ski pressure. I realize that I needed to also adjust the front of the rear, and possibly the front springs, but didn't take the time to experiment with it this year. I just put the back of the rear where it was. He's not taking that thing too far off trail yet for it to make any difference for him anyway.

Just an FYI if you do decide to do something like that.

i had it done to my old sled (93 indy trail 2-up converted) but my dad and his buddy did it long before it was mine. i realize it will change the steering. but will i be able to just take off my existing bracket, pop this one on and it will be lined up? i know how to remove blind rivets and whatnot. i have the attachment for the air hammer gun to put new ones in and i have extra blind rivets already but i think i would go the bolting route. $15 sounds pretty cheap. but i'm just wondering if i need some type of L to support it on the outside side of the bracket. like across the running board and down the side of the bracket. anybody know what i'm saying? this kit might already come with it but i couldn't find anything out, $15 sounds like it's worth a try. i might just order it and give $15 cash to my parents and get the 22 cent SLP sticker along with the order! (or do you get a sticker with any orders?)

also does anybody know how wide the top gear in my chaincase is on my 99 xc 700? i think if i order the suspension brackets i'll get a 23 T gear. they have them in 11 wide and i looked up my gear in a parts finder and it said 3/4 W. Also, they have a 23 T 15 spline 11 W gear in steel or aluminum, which one would be best?

thanks

Ok the trick, from an engineering point of view, is to keep the suspension mounting points in the same plane as the are in now, you can drop the back but the front will need to be lowered as well. Think of the driveshaft and two mounting points as a triangle, a very flat one. That triangle needs to stay the same and then you won't have to worry about steering problems, also the suspension was designed to work with how it is installed.
