question on trailer size

Well, now that I got all my kids out of the house its time to start looking for a new enclosed trailer. I'd like to be able to haul 3 sleds in a pinch but usually just two. I'd like a 7.5 or 7' wide, how long do I need to go for lets say 2 144"'s and a 155". I'm thinking maybe a 16-17' box and 4-5' V. I can fit 2 144's one behind the other in just over 19' in my current trailer. So I'd the run the two shorter sleds down one side into the V and stick the longer sled sort of in the middle on the opposite side??

On the flip side, I'm going to be looking to get rid on my 8x20 deck over enclosed trailer also so hit me up if you're interested.

I know the market is tough right now so I'm just going to watch to see when something comes available.

Thanks

Going wider will allow a shorter trailer in a close call situation. also a taller trailer is what the utv haulers need , so something to consider there also.

I'd agree with previous comments fitting 3 mountain sleds in a 7x23 (18 box + 5 V), that should work because mountain sleds have narrower a-arms and ski-stance, drive them in from the front and they fit closer together lengthwise.

Think: ski of 2nd sled up underneath running board of 1st sled, ski of 3rd sled up underneath the running board of 2nd sled. Narrower ski stance allows the next sled to drive further in underneath the one loaded before it.

I don't think 3 - 144's would fit in a 7x23 if they had normal ski stance, they wouldn't group tight enough back-to-front, the last sled bumper probably wouldn't fit into the nose, it would be too long. I have a 7x23, can fit 2 -137's in first, but the last sled with it's rear bumper in the nose of the V has to be a 121. The snow flap rubs on the inside wall and the ramp door when closed. The ski loop touch the running boards of the sled in front of it.

I have also fit 4 sleds (all trail ski-stance). 3 137's and a 121. But you have to load some backwards from both ends and drag up the ramps. A little bit of work, but sometimes worth it for carpooling and splitting gas.

Another thing you could do if you really get in a bind is take 1 ski off of one sled once in the trailer, the middle or the last (front of trailer). A single nut/bolt usually. That would allow sleds to group tighter lengthwise.

I have a 7x23 18 box + 5 foot v nose RnR and have had 3 137 in there, 2 137 and 1 146, with room to spare and soon 2 146 and 1 137 all loaded from the front. when only hauling the 2 137s would load from the rear right down the middle it seemed to tow the best that way.

I've been considering downsizing my trailer it's a 2018 7x22'+5' cargo express finished walls, two tone exterior etc... ideally I'd find a 3 place enclosed but would consider 2 place. Looking for trailer plus cash in trade for mine if anyone is looking to get into a bigger trailer
