It is my understanding and assumption that out of all of the fatalities only a minute amount of them can be attributed to the covid-19 virus being the only cause of death, meaning it seems like the flu it causes complications among those with immune deficiencies or underlying health issues and can be fatal. Once there is a vaccine available are you going to get a shot? do you already receive the flu shot? for me its no and no.

I did get flu shot this year. Didn't get flu.
My wife and I are convinced I had the rona. She's a PA. I did not get tested, wasn't bad enough to go to hospital.
I dont know if I would get a vaccine yet.

I did get flu shot tis year, its free through healthcare clinic where my wife works. Did not get flu.

I would probably get vaccine for Covid-20? if they have one. I travel a lot so it makes sense to me.

Einstein once said, "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."

Every year I get a Flu Shot and every year I get the Flu. This past year was especially bad, I was down for most of February. Here's the thing, I've talked to my family Doc about this and he says that there are various strains of the Flu. When they produce the vaccines they're predicting what strain will be prevalent. If they get it wrong, oh well there's always next year.

"...only a minute amount of them can be attributed to the covid-19 virus being the only cause of death..." An interesting comment.
Consider, if one is shot with a gun, is it the bullet that might cause the death, or is it the bleeding, or perhaps an infection caused by the wound, or some other complication? If someone has an underlying health issue, would they have died in this tine period had they not gotten the virus?
If you have ever flown on an airplane or purchased a lottery ticket or gambled in any form where you felt you had a chance (however slim) of "winning", then why wouldn't you get a flu shot? In the face of insufficient factual data, perhaps a reasonable and logical course would be to go with the statistical likelihood of an event as best as can be determined.
And you can not prove negative.
Me, I get the flu vaccine now.

If there is a Covid-19 vaccine available within 6 months, I would wait another 3 before I got it.
If it is available in 1 year, I would wait 1 month and then get it.

It is very unlikely there will be a vaccine in 12 to 18 months. Developing a vaccine and testing it properly takes a long time. More like 5 years. A quicker fix would be better treatments once infected. There are a few treatments being tested that show some promise.

I would bet most ALL folks die, have more than one thing wrong with them
so what does that mean or prove

this virus, IS causing folks to die , and making many others pretty sick!

the simple facts are, like most things in life, its real easy to disregard something when its NOT directly effecting you or someone you love

and then, magically when it does happen, it becomes a BIG deal!

like it or not this thing is a big problem in MANY places
NOT every where, I get this

but that can change real fast, but the facts are, in places it is very dominant, its NOT going any FAST at all

in fact, its lingering or increase in many places still at high rates!

do you want people from these p[laces traveling to where you LIVE?/work/ eat/buy foods??

odds are the answer is no
so, seems the solution at hand is for folks to stay home as much as possible

YES staying at home sucks
fully agree
but there are worse things in life than staying at home too!

X2 People that don't invest their lives and everything they own in a business don't understand where business owners are coming from. You don't know the risk until you have taken it. Not complaining as we have chosen to do so but that is why we see things differently. I made the decision to do everything I can not to lose my business so I have been working and traveling the entire time.

Its your life so do want you feel safe doing.

yea, staying at home and losing your business.

Exactly right that they try to predict which strains might be prevalent during the up coming flu season. With that said everyone is different and as with everything else the flu shot can effect everyone different. I own an operate an adult foster case home for 12 residents. Every year I have all my residents, employee, my wife and I and also my kids get a flu shot. I can say that we haven't got the flu in well over 10+ years, BUT, I make a point that all my residents doctor/dental appointments (unless something pops up, which is rare, but then again they are getting older)are completed by November, so basically it's just like what we are doing right now, hibernating........lol

As for the Covid 19 vaccine....... I'd give it some time after it first came out and then again still might not get it. Think of it kind of like buying a first year sled, it might be the greatest sled, but than again it might be a complete dud.

so if someone has the virus, then due to its there life they can freely wader about infecting anyone else they want to??
this logic sadly doesn;t work well in the real world

facts are this is a special time and special things have to take place to stop and slow things down

here in PA< 1100 + cases again in past 24 hours

I get loosing a business is a terrible thing, but loosing a life is maybe worse NO??

as if your dead, your business isn't going to stay open either
and again, just cause things are not BAD in your area NOW< doesn't ; mean they cannot be bad soon!

again, seen towns near me go from few cased to thousands in a week or less!

SO?
open business's can get people in that are infected and thus keep spreading it fast!

I think this whole deal sucks all around, so I do feel for anyone, had my own business too so get that all too well!

but I don;t believe anyone doing what EVER they want just cause its THERE LIFE< being the answer here at all!

and , that might even be a very selfish way to live if all you care about is YOU!!

There will be herd immunity before there is a vaccine. Our capabilities are grossly optimistic with regards to a vaccine. In reality we are not even capable of building a 2 stroke 850 that is somewhat reliable. If the researchers stumble on a vaccine before 5 years go by well then good. But it will be a stumble. Don't count on it. It is already too late. The economy is fragile. And it is completely doomed. If you are in it get out like tomorrow.

if patients have COVID-19, but Dr. Procop warns that these have “implications” and stresses that this type of test isn’t used at Cleveland Clinic. “Different strains of the coronavirus circulate every year, causing the common cold,” he says. “This means blood tests may cross-react and deliver a false positive if a patient has been infected by one of these viruses in the past.”
