Questions about trip to Drummond Island

We are planning a saddlebag ride from Eagle River WI to Drummond Island in February. We've
been on many of the trails on the way there but never been quite that far East. Any suggestions of things to see and places to stay there and what is needed for passports and such to go to St Joseph Island Canada if the ice bridge is safe/open. Thanks

The Casino in Brimley is nice and so Is the Budget Host in St. Ignace.
The problem I have seen is snow is not consistent all the way. Every time we try it we make it from E.R., WI and end near Brimley or even just to Raco near Paradise, MI because we run out of snow.
You may be better beginning at the Casino in Watersmeet as you are on railroad fasttracking.

We've had a place on Drummond since the 1950's, so I think I can help. You will need the passport or an enhanced drivers license and print a copy of your declarations page from insurance that shows the sleds are covered. You will only need to present insurance if stopped by the OPP. Sometimes on busier weekends they will hang out at the boat launch at Richards landing where the tree line from Drummond ends and check you in. Otherwise you just use the provided phone there to check in. Then ride north up the A line trail and follow the signs to Hilton Beach and head to the Tilt'n Hilton. Chris and Cindy are your hosts there and will make you the best Bloody Caesar in all of Canada (and the world for that matter). Tell them Tim Bryan and Claude sent ya for the red carpet treatment. Cheers!!!
