I have an 09 Fatboy and I'm really looking into getting a radio for it. I'd love to get a fairing/cd player for it but those are pretty expensive and I dont have that much cash. Any rec's on radios for bikes?

Saw a neat little system at the dealership this weekend. Mounted to the handlebars...2 speakers, reciever and plug and spot for MP3 player. Was made to fit bikes with the fork mounted windshield...didnt pay alot of attention to it but seemed pretty decent and was rocking pretty loud when I walked by. Pretty sure it was made by HD.

Not a fan of radios or clocks on a bike, It just takes away from the experience. Barely can tolerate a windshield, but in MI all 4 seasons can be seen in a day or that would be gone too.

OK, why not get an MP3 player with an FM radio, like this "http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemplatemapper.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_dynSessConf=4593448750741113446&id=pcat17080&type=page&lcn=Audio+%26+MP3&sc=audioSP&st=processingtime%3A%3E1900-01-01&usc=abcat0200000&cp=1&sp=%2Bcurrentprice+skuid&nrp=15&qp=cabcat0200000%23%23-1%23%23-1~~cabcat0201000%23%23-1%23%23-1~~q70726f63657373696e6774696d653a3e313930302d30312d3031~~f1019%7C%7C4f6e6c696e65204f6e6c79~~nf528%7C%7C464d2074756e6572&add_to_pkg=false&pagetype=listing"]best buy[/URL]

That's like $25 or so, then add speakers like this or something similar and you are done for a hundie and you don't need to carry cds on the bike. OR you could just use a smartphone with Tune in Radio, Pandora, Spotify, and Google music and just get a set of speakers. No need to invest in a whole new appliance to play cds, they are kinda going the way of 8 tracks.

this a link to big bike parts, they have a new water proof speaker and amp kit that is real reasonable compared to what has been out there. IF you dont like to use an ipod or your phone, you can hook up xm or sirius to it. We use sirius on our bike and love it. being on a bike you will need water proof speakers and amp unless you can mount the amp in a completely water proof area on the bike, which might be kind of hard.

Had an '05 Fatboy with no radio, no cruise & loud pipes. Loved it for the 2 years I owned it. Sold it and bought an '09 Street Glide with a radio and cruise and will never look back. I can't even imagine riding these days without a radio and cruise. Your Fatboy is a 2009 so I wouldn't think upgrading to the same year in a Street Glide would put you out a ton of $$. I realize that is a relative term of course. Sell your Fatboy for $14,000 and turn around and buy a Street Glide for $17,000. The key would be you would need to sell yours outright. Jim
