Wondering if someone can point me to a reliable shop near Maple Grove. I believe my rear axle seal is gone on my 2001 F150.

How much is this going to cost?

Should i use independent shop or dealer?

I looked up the process on the internet and it sounds like more than i want to get into.

ANy tips would be appreciated.

Thanks Ben

Once my warrenty is up I never go to dealers unless it's computer thing nobody else can do.

Last week I paid my dealer $160 to diagnose a steering problem, even when I had them do the work ? But I have an extended warrenty nobody else wanted to mess with. Warrenty didn't cover the $160 or the $200 deductable.

When writing up the job the service rep was crying about business was so bad they can't afford to have a holiday party. Told him to use my $160 diagnose charge to buy themselves some little weiners and quit crying. Boo hoo

If you want to come up to Monticello, Red's Auto here in town does a great job at a very good price. Owner's name is Mike. Tell them I sent you. Not that I have a lot of pull, but Mike knows me. And he's a HUGE snowmobiler! Not sure he watches this site, but he's got sleds, has his two girls into it (15 and 17), and owns 4 sleds.

sorry ezra, map distance baffles me sometimes up here in no traffic land; i took my car from international falls to mound for service at eddies. also hit corcoran for tires and the wayzata legion. had some guys bear hunting up here related to paul at eddies, believe it or not, it made sense to make the trek, but i had some other business in the cities that made it work out the way it did.
