Removing Picks?

I bought a 2006 cat crossfire. The track is picked but not overloaded with picks. I am not a big fan of picks and was wondering if anyone has removed them. Will the track be OK or will it start to tear or Fail? I ride trail only and am not real aggressive.Thanks for your input.

I have a ice-ripper xt with studs pulled out , well over 1000 miles. No problems yet.

I have removed studs from used sleds I've bought and never had a problem. Take 'em out.

It won't hurt anything to take them out.
