Because I am old and lazy I will copy a reply from the "groomer" discussion Lenny had 2 days ago. I will copy the whole message but my thoughts from the last half of the message applies to the clowns we are referring to here in the discussion:

I hate to say it but I believe for the most part it is an age thing. I am in my mid 50's and I guess I've been there done that. Now all I want is a smooth trails and as many miles in a day as I can get. Don't have that "need for speed" and feel of power like I used to. I don't think there is an answer unless we want to invite police and others to be riding up and down the trails handing out citations and I sure don't want that. It is not that different than our highways, just on a compacted scale. We have hot rods that want to race on the interstates, drunk drivers, people who drive with no regard for others rights, people driving trying to run down animals on the road. Really a pretty sad description of humans, however we close our eyes and shake our heads because we know it will never change. Someday maybe we can all learn respect for others but until that happens, well I guess I will sum it up this way:
When I was young, if I got in trouble I really did not want my dad to find out about it because I knew my butt would get tanned, today if a kid gets in trouble many parent will stick up for their child and say "My Johnny would never do that" and try to get the kid out of trouble to "Save him some trauma". Maybe they need to get a little trauma and a smack in the butt with a fly swatter.
God I feel much older now!!:)

Captain that is about the funniest analogy of the in-crowd wanta be real sledders character's ive read !!!..I got tears in my eyes from reading that,Thanks!..I needed that after the week ive had !!..ps!..funny to mention that the last time I was going thru L'anse stopped at the gas station and was with our group and in the gas station we striked up a conversation and by the tome we left I had tears in my eyes also !!!..we were on our way to Baraga !!
I've been riding in the up since the mid 90's. Times had change since then back then if you were stuck somebody would stop and help you.If you were broke down somebody would tow you.And if it was a local guy that stoped he would do anything in his power to help you get back on the trail. You would try to give them money you would almost have to sneak it in there pockets because they would refuse.About a month ago i got stuck by myself 5 feet from the trail 4 sleds drove by didn't stop.2 weeks ago i was sitting on the side of the trail by myself again taking a break with my hood up nothing wrong just checking things out atleast 10 to 15 sleds went by not one check if everything was ok.I guess those days are gone nowadays i think it's 30% real snowmobilers that would help and 70% ricky racer/bobby boondocker/trail terrorists that just don't give a F@$%##.
