Riding in Togwotee area - how much gas per day

We're thinking about a trip to the togwotee area. Renting 600s or 800s. How much gas do you go through riding each day? Assume you are out riding all day. More than a tank? If so, do you carry gas on your sled or circle back to fill up? Thanks.

If you are renting from Tog Mtn Lodge the fuel is included in the rental. If you're going with a TML backcuontry guided trip you won't need an extra fuel tank... besides none of the rentals come with 'em anyhow.

We rode offtrail with a guide and had one guy who ran out of gas two out of 3 days. His jets were set WAY rich. The rest of us used about 7-8 gallons per day on an RMK 800, Cat 800, and Doo 800's.

Thanks. We are also looking at riding with a guide.

We were told a regular day with a guide is around 9 - 4. Does that sound about right? Seems like a shorter day to me, but I've only been in that area once before.

With a guide, you will be out approx 6 hrs, which is plenty of time to rip up alot of different terrain. Unless you are use to this elevation & ride it regularly, 6 hrs will have you gassed at the end of the day, even if you have no stucks. Eat well & have plenty of fluids for the day. You'll see what I mean after day 1.-Mezz

You will go thru 3/4 to just about a full tank ea. day included with rental. I always rally the guide to get moving around 8am. (not recomended with some) usually am out of there between 8:30 and 9am. back at just before dark (your guide will size you up for how much you can endure) and skip coming back for lunch (pack one, but very light) eat out on the Mtn. . Tip guide well and they seem to move faster in the morning. Always be upfront and Honest with your guide on what type of riding you like to do. Don't puff chest out with them or they will torture you while smiling to you! Right Carter! I love every bit of Tog. riding. You will have the time of your life. 9-4 for a neewbie will kick your rear. Tog. is an entirley different program than riding back home. You will want to locate the hot tubs first day.

Joe, no stucks, but, 1 catastrophic incident that took out one of our sleds in our group. The "Ghost Rider" found a nice group of pine tree's on the way down from playing Mr. High Mark. This took out the upper & lower A-arms as well as shock, bumper, hood & airbox. Since returning home & now back to work none of us have had time to put our pic's together. As you know, I got sick the night before leaving which we had to cut out 2 day's early due to disabled sled & rider, then Chris ended up getting sick shortly after me on the way home & has been down & out since then. Hopefully we'll get it together soon. Trust me, fun was had by all despite the incident, nothing like that experience & hopefully, we will get back at it again. Definetly not for the faint of heart, fantastic terrain & conditions. I hope your trip to Idaho is a good one.-Mezz
