Ripped off

I live in a remote area of Canada, so when my crankshaft needed rebuilding, I looked online and found JT Snowmobile in New Lowell Ontario.

After swapping email, I shipped my crank and rod to him. I tracked the package via Canada Posts online tracking service, and the package was delivered to their post office but sat there for 10 days before it was picked up. So, fine. A week goes by. I send an email to see how its going. They send one back, saying undersized rod. They had to order one. So I wait for 2 more weeks til they get the rod and they phone me for payment.

Then I wait almost 3 weeks to get it back in the mail, and guess what? They kept the rod that I sent them. They ground down the crank so much that the rod I sent was too big, so they had to buy another one, but they kept my rod, new bearings and all. I have emailed the guy and he insists that the rod was no good, and no one generally wants to pay to ship no good parts back home etc... I have told hime to send me the rod or a check for $200 and now he is just ignoring me. There was nothing wrong with the rod. The bearings spun and gouged the crank, which is why I had to get it redone, nothing to do with the rod. I could have sold that rod myself or used it on another project. Jt Snowmobile ripped me off.

If you ever need work done again check out Jeff at Midwest Crankshaft in Green Bay WI. He does great work for a fair price and a good turn around time.

JT is a used snowmobile shop as opposed to a machine shop, so the only way he would say he fixes cranks is subbing it out to someone else......

I would believe that your problems originated with JT just being the middleman.

I know this is an old thread but I will third Jeff at Midwest Crank. Found out about him through this thread and his shop is only a mile from my house. Turn around time was good and the price was even better. Highly recommended.
