Rumor has it….

We can hope. That was the jewel of P.I. back in the 80s and 90s. So sad to drive by it every day and see it abandoned. One of the P.I. volunteer firemen has been cutting the grass for the past few years just so it didn't look like such an eyesore. Would love to see it re-open as a bar/restaurant and hotel again but I'm hearing it will be razed and become some sort of housing/apartments. Rumors will tell.

I've heard similar things that rph130 mentions. Heard the bar/restaurant was in poor condition (water damage, etc) and likely would need to be razed. A prominent person that's very involved in Manitowish Waters may be purchasing.....

We have never been able to figure out why somebody couldn't make that place go again? Man back in its day it was going place for lodging, drinks, and eats! Sad it had to finally end this way.

Yeah I could remember on really cold days looking forward to stopping at SkyView and sitting by the fire place to warm up.

Skyview had a great breakfast, great stop. Birch Lake Lodge burned down and then Skyview ran into problems. It was nice to have a couple of places on that side of town. The Retreat Bar is a great stop just down the trail!

So many places in that area are no more.....Skyview, Carlin Lake Lodge, Bear Bar (Winchester), Headwaters (Winchester). All were great places.

Hmmmm, another restaurant/hotel for "her". Looks like "she" is starting a monopoly.

The Wilderness, Chicago Pub, and good news on Shillelagh, which I hear received all of their lumber for the new building and a planned opening by St. Patricks Day.

I forgot they had rooms, we stopped there for dinner back in early 90's, was the place that had stuffed 2 headed calf where you walked in right? was more like a supper club than a bar to me.

Don’t recall the two headed calf but yes, it was a supper club with a good sized dining room, big circular bar and they had music on the weekends. Another stop that is gone.
