Sad Day...

Thanks

I appreciate all the warm thoughts, everybody. I knew that the John Dee community is full of animal lovers, and even though I know I did the right thing, I needed a little reassurance. Even with two energetic boys, the house just is quiet. No paw/claw noises on the hardwood. No bark when the door opens (always gave one deep bark...just in case you didn't know he was there!). Lots of little things.

Thanks again!

Sorry to hear about your loss REV. My father is a veterinarian and I have seen a lot of good dogs come and go throughout my life and it never gets any easier seeing the final days. You made the right and ethical decision not to allow Kody to suffer. Its amazing how attached you become to having them around and always happy to see you. I miss everyone of the previous animals that I have had. God Bless!

Sorry to hear REV and Miked. Our animal friends bring us so much joy while they are here. Hang in there and remember the good times you had.

It's all been said very well. Our yellow is going on 11, is never more than 1 foot away from my wife who has an office at home - It hurt just reading about your loss.

Awe!! What a nice pic of your buddy and pal! So Sorry for your loss. Darn 4 legged family members!

And sorry Miked...looks like a cat I had as a kid who made it to to the ripe old crotchety old age of 18. The last cat I had to send to his maker had kidney disease for about 7 years too. When he got to suffering? had to say good bye.

So sorry about your loss. Had to do the same thing last year. Never thought another dog could replace Duke--However I now have one of his great-grandsons, and boy is he a little pisswilly just like his Grandpa........................
