What are you guys seeing for snow totals? I looked at what nws had posted, and it's way off..they had Tomahawk at 1.5 inches..a club south of town at 7.5, and I had just over 6 inches in nokomis....just trying to figure out who got what...might be helpful for those planning rides.
I do have to say...we had very heavy traffic here over the weekend...it was great to see..but the trails took a beating..they were thin to begin with, and were in tough shape in spots before the snow...the snow made a big difference...but i was worried watching the folks out riding during the storm, blowing the fresh snow off the trail as it was falling...(i wish people would wait, but that will never happen)...Really hate when it snows on a Friday or Saturday..but it is what it is...I do have to say..I salute Lincoln County for staying closed, until enough snow was on the trails..they didn't bow to the pressure from business owners...and the result is they are opening 4 days later with nicely prepped trails, that nobody blew the snow off of before it was panned...it will make a huge difference in how long the trails will hold up...if you are planning a trip...to me ..the trails look nicer in southern oneida county/ lincoln county...was told from a group of riders, in and around minocqua, lake tom trails were snirt and gravel from heavy traffic and I'd say watch for Langlade/southern Forest county snow totals..that might be real good there... Again nws snow total maps are wrong or not updated...so tell me what you got
