secondary question

i have the belt off the secondary and noticed there is about 2 inches of play on the inner sheave. is this normal? if so should i have all the way forward to the middle or to the back when belt put back on.it seems like it should be that way but i have never noticed the inner sheave slips forward and back while the outer sheave stays solid to the track.

i nguess i should say are the secondary sheaves supposed to slip past each other?

Rear sheave moves, front sheave stays solid...don't panic. Something has to move in order to open.....it's all good.

thanks. i think it is the clunk i hear sometimes when starting out after a stop sign and the squeak i hear below 20 mph. does any body else have that issue?

the squeak is probably bad belt deflection or the weights rubbing on the spider which = bad.

The inner sheave should turn back but there should presure on it if not you may have a broke mor weak spring.

I had the same problem on my xcr, what it is, is the belt is a little tight or off a tad, just loosen the secondary adjustment a bit and you will be just fine. I had it happen after a rebuid and it anoyed the **** out of me untill i did some tinkering and it has been great ever since.
