I still do. Quite a bit. Slap that stamp on, return address label, and spit on da envelope to seal it shut. I do my share of www bill pays, but some things I feel better goin old school. Been working good for 40 yrs and no ID thievery or missed payments.

Personal Checks? What are they?

Ye dogs, I haven't even seen a checkbook in a decade or more!

Once last year, I had a landscaper that was working the neighborhood do a quick one-shot in my yard, and he couldn't handle credit (or debit) cards, not even PayPal — so I had to log on to my bank's web site and have them send him a paper check!

Not that it matters, after 50+ years of keyboard smashing, I can barely write even a legible, consistent signature. I keep waiting for the elections department to contest the illegible scribble on my mail-in ballot(s)!

(That, after the many hours my dad forced me to spend as a kid sitting at the dining room table tediously slaving over, er … "learning" the Palmer Method of cursive "penmanship". Hated it! Lotta good that did. Hah!

And it worked so well for my dad too — he had such an ever-so-perfect, but grossly large fat scrawl that his signature would barely fit on a check! (Quite a trick, with a long surname like "Nash".)
