Gee, they use leeches to digest all that nasty stuff? Who knew? :p

Please don't put a label on all of us septic inspectors and installers. I don't label you, for what you ride or your occupation. we are doing are job. mostly 100% is a BOLD accusation. Don't pump or inspect sludge depth every three years. No one said you need to pump every three years, they tell you to inspect, most never need to pump in three years, it is based on sludge depth.
If your pumper is one of the mostly 100% crooks as you say please call the county and state to complain. The state web site has a complaint area to contact.
Thanks
Howie

Much easier than one would think...Send a post card to homeowner to pump then certified by pumper & he mails back to county. County inspector shuts you down if you do not comply. I don't know anyone that does not pump but probably a few so the few get the attention needed.

What do you mean by " shuts you down ' ?

I think the homeowner is a better judge of when a tank needs pumped. Based on water usage could be every year or 10 years.

I should of qualified...in southern WI. Northern WI was the only place I've ever had someone suggest to inspect the sludge level, vs. pumping. The inspector proved to me that pumping wasn't necessary otherwise I would have never known by my experience in southern WI.
If you know of a reputable inspector in southern WI, send me a PM - I'm all ears.

In Kenosha county the county sends you a letter and the proper paperwork a couple months before your 3 years are up then you have to get it pumped and the company fills out the paperwork sends it back to the county and good for 3 more years, ya it isn't full yet but that's part of life. Only reason counties or state has to step in is to try to stop the neglect and then the dumping of the sewage in to the ground. If everyone would have it check and pumped when needed then they wouldn't have to make these laws. And to me 180 to 200 bucks every 3 years beats a monthly sewer bill. I also know in michigan as is 2005 they didn't have any laws about getting it pumped or inspected every few years.

No sure what they do to shut you down I have never been there always pump I would "guess" county would start with a fine then go from there. Everyone I know just pumps but if inspectior sees , for example, a dry well gushing all over place county will come out ask owner to bring to spec then condem if action is not taken.

If I pump every three years, they will find all the tracking collars and wolf bones. Gosh darn it, now what do I do? I think I've put myself in a chity situation?
