Shawano County

Anyone have any updates on Shawano Co? Any info would be helpful, but really looking for more W/NW part of the County (Tilleda, Bowler, Wittenberg, Caroline, Gresham, Mattoon, etc)? I know they had about 9.5" prior to last weekends snowfall, but also realize there might not have been much of a base.)

I live in that area and rode yesterday day. The grades and fields were good but you had to ride a lot of dirt and rough terrain to get to them, by afternoon it was melting down pretty bad. I won’t ride here again unless we get snow.

Appreciate the update. Darn, not what I was hoping to hear. Did you go at all on western side of the county? I know with the last dumping Caroline had 10". So, assuming that way has more snow?

Yep I went through bowler tigerton tried to head back towards big falls and Marion but turned around due to bad trails. Tuesday I went to tigerton Galloway pike lake trails were fairly good that but that was Tuesday. Probably still rideable but not great.

Well, despite the aforementioned, I ended up getting out Saturday and Sunday in the area. My brother and his wife had gone Fri and said it was pretty bad. Luckily, they were able to define where it would be good to stay away from and we ended up having a decent ride Sat. My sister in law said no way she was going again Sat, but my brother did go again. So, there was a group of us. We spent the majority of the time on the Mountain Bay (which had no bare spots and was smooth.) Took side trails from Tilleda to Lyndhurst to get access to it. To my surprise I even ran into a groomer this way in the morning. Ended up having lunch in Aniwa. The stretch from Eland to Aniwa was pretty lumpy (which has always seemed to be the case.) Sunday we just took a small jaunt from Tilleda and went south crossing 29 going over toward Leopolis/Pella. Surprisingly this wasn't as poor as I expected. Fields were the best, with minimal bare spots. Overall, glad we went. Looks like that might be it for the season, but fingers crossed we survive the warm up and get a good dumping of snow in the near future.
