Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Calumet Counties

Things are not looking good in the next week to ten days. Looks like a warm up, melt down is on the way. We may have to start all over again if and when it turns cold again. Hard to stay positive when the countdown to spring is underway. Shorter snowmobile seasons seems to be the trend.

I took a trip up the east shore of Lake Winnebago from Fond du Lac to Quinney on Thursday after the snow and was surprised to find how good the snow was.

Fox6 Milwaukee just reported that Parnel (in Sheboygan County) picked up 10" today. Will the clubs fire up the groomers? Would love to take the family for a ride this weekend!

I live just 10 miles north of Plymouth and it was so wet and mixed rain that what is on the ground is not close to 10 in. A lot of slush and mud under the snow also. I don't think there is any frost in the ground any more.

Yeah - I'm in SE Sheboygan County - about 5" here. However, no frost and too much standing water - no way they can open the trails or groom.

Yes we received about 10 here but, as said by someone else a lot of standing water.
Was excavating today and no frost which is bad but, good that the water will soak away in the long term. looks a if next week we will be getting colder temps which will help a lot.
I hope next week if the forcast is correct will be out panning, possibly some short term reroutes if the snow comes as possibly forcasted.
Thanks
Howie

Alright Howie...

Lots of cold temps in the forecast and it looks like Sheboygan county will get at least 4" out of the snow event today/tonight. Will the trails open this weekend?

Fingers crossed.

Chris.

Wouldn't count on it. Maybe 2" in northern Calumet county anyways.. And it's all powder, be in ditches in no time.
Might head out tomorrow though and check out lake Winnebago. Better than nothing.

We are grooming tomorrow. Fond Du Lac was grooming today from what a club told me this afternoon.
We received about 2-3 inches so far. Another club is grooming west of us also tomorrow also, Will have to see how the swamps are.
I will keep you posted.

According to the WI Snow Conditions site, Fond du lac is partially open. Hoping the neighboring counties can open as well. John's forecast looks very promising.

Has your club been grooming this week? I need Manitowoc to open as that were our sleds are kept.

Thanks

Chris

The southern clubs have groomed but the northern have not. they are looking to soon. Lots of ice and swamp issues all over the county.
It is as if we are starting all over again. Not perfect conditions by far but, we can ride.
If I could figure out how to put pictures on the site I would give you the good, bad, and ugly.
Conditions will improve next week with more grooming.
Howie

If we don't get more snow and we end up with rain things are not going to be good. AGAIN!!!!!!!!
It is marginal the way it is now.

Yep. Current forecast doesn't look good. When you look out a few weeks you see other forecasted days well above 32 degrees. Not real optimistic at this point.
