I was at Popeyes chicken today in Milwaukee and saw small buds on a shrub near the building.
Oh yeah, 64 degrees there and NO SNOW IN SIGHT.

Warm here too. Snow dropped considerably. As bad as it is for sledders you really have to feel for Kip and the rest of the dealers. No wonder there are less and less of them all the time with these shortened seasons. Tough to make money in a good year. Look for more fire sale prices on remaining sleds. Also no riding makes for no breakdowns and general repairs. Got to be really tough to keep the doors open at snomo shops.

She's warm no doubt. Surprisingly the trails have great base and from here North it's holding up very well. Another few days of the warmth we'll have to see how it holds but for now people have been great and they're are looking at the glass half full:) Yeah grub I imagine we'll see more dealers probably drop or maybe just drop the snow line. It's tough sailing for sure.

I own a outdoor power equipment business and even when it snows its all about survival till spring summer and fall, but when it doesn't snow it really hurts, most people don't understand how dependent businesses can be on weather and how short of a window you have to depend on that, winter being the most dependent of all. the warmth and marginal snow wasn't isloated just to one area this year and i feel very bad for all of us who depend on the white gold as it is the shortest season of all and for some of us the most important season of the year, which is makes it much more important to support local business, without them what would we have?

It's like winter has moved increments of 300 miles further north. Vilas is having a southern WI winter and Chicago is having a southern IL winter no El Nino to blame this year and was supposed to be average for the Midwest. If this is an average winter from now on snomo dealers will be dropping like flies in the frost. Something is going on with Climate Change with these very warm winters. IDK what to think but snowmobling on a regular schedule is becoming a WUPMI event even northern WI has been difficult this winter. If you waited or hesitated for any reason trail conditions thawed from good to poor quickly. Idk if the sport will hold user interest too much longer if snow cover is not a seasonal condition? It is no easy task to get riding buddies together for a trip north and sooner or later they will just move on to something else with all the false starts. IDK what will happen in future winters but sure is not easy to schedule rides with soooo many severe thaws.

**** riding em is one thing. I spend about 3-4 days in the fall brushing blading and signing over 40 miles of trails. Why the **** do I even bother? Groomer never went out last year. This year was out twice for marginal conditions. There is so much time and money involved in this sport to have these crappy winters back to back to back.....

You nailed WD. It has changed winter season dramatically no doubt. 40 degrees and rain in Hearst, Ontario, Ca, go figure.
