Stopped at Sidnaw gas Sunday. What a shocker from the old place to the new. The new owners put some serious $$ in the place. I think the door is in the same place, but that's about it. The entire inside was gutted and completely re-done. Really nice work inside. Plenty of room with tables for sitting. Limited menu at this time, but will include more items once the snomo season gets under way. Hours are 8-10. Friendly/talkative owner & bartender. Same gas pump-high test only. I did chuckle when I noticed the binoculars in the window. Those go back many,many years. Hope they have a busy season.

I'm glad to hear that it's under new ownership, I would consider stopping there again and giving it another chance. I haven't been there in probably 5 years because of the old owners.

The old owners were the best!! used to stay in the cabins out back for years!! Glad to hear someone bought it and put some money into the place tho!

Stopped in Saturday also, very nice. One reccomendation I would like to make and they can take or leave it. I normally like to stop in and patronize new owners , especially in small towns like Sidnaw, and we did Saturday too. We did not need gas but thought we would fill up anyway , the most any sled took was 6 gallons so we couldve made it to alot of other stations.(Mass, Baraga, Bruces Crossing) This will be the last time we fill up there . Look if you want people stop there and spend money in the bar eating and drinking you dont have to gouge gas prices like Tommy did.Seriously $3.89 A Gallon? You can do what you want but IMHO its not being very Customer oriented . There are other bars just down the trail a few miles and an awesome restaurant right in your same town. (Sidnaw Eats) You can obviously do what you want but Volume makes profits not gougers.
I agree with pwolfy. Not to mention as also mentioned above the dude at the register staring out the window at you 10 feet away while you pump your gas making sure he charges the right amount. They will quickly drive away more business than they will pull in. We stopped there on 12/6 on the way north up the 109. When we stopped to turn around and head back south we discussed stopping back there for lunch but opted to roll right on through and headed to Hoppy's instead....................

Not much money to be made on gas U.P. there. Lots of sleds stopping and if you add a few drive-offs it doesn't take long for a business like that to close....They're getting a new pump and then maybe those that don't like "being watched" wont have anything to worry about....
When is new pump being installed?
I don't mind being watched but he's right up against the window with the binocs like he's expecting you to drive off. I'm from U.P. there so I know the situation but there is no reason that the gas should be $1 more per gallon in Sidnaw than it is in Bruce Crossing. I'm not one that buys a $10,000 sled then complains about the price of a trail sticker and or gas but you know.
The sad truth is people steel gas from them. Do you think they want to pay some guy to look out the window? I was told eth free gas cost 50 cents a gal more. You can't compare them to a big corp gas station. Do I like paying a buck more a gallon? Heck no. What I hate even more is cleaning carbs and buying additives. My camp is down the road from them. I would have to trailer my fuel cell to Baraga to save a few bucks. They do have Widow Maker on tap, 3.50 a pint. After the toys are put away,I fill up on great beer at a cheep price. If you could get rich selling gas in Sidnaw,I would have bought the place from Tom and Bev. I know the numbers, nobody is getting rich. They got the binocs From Tom.lol. The new owners are very nice. One of them is a sledder. Give them some time to work the bugs out. They know the gas pump is a problem.

Paul ...What about down the street at Watton by the steakhouse? Side note great food there at steakhouse really nice place good peeps & if that side trail is semi groomed should be competitive premium pay at pump gas... Right?.. Wrong?...your advise?
It's not eth free. Bruce isn't eth free. That trail is a local trail,not even close to being groomed. The closest real gas is Pats, Krups,or Baraga/La'ance. The owners of the Steak house also own Ewin fuel and oil. They del to small stations. They tell me who has the good stuff.

Who do you guys think buys 91 octane non ethanol in the UP besides us sledders...think about that for a minute.
I don't need ethanol free any premium just fine for 4s.
BC gas just fine with me been running it for years no problems but too far west been avoiding Trail 3 when possible better riding east of BC. Does the local trail hold up ok or a banger?EXCESSIVE FORCE

FWIW we paid $3.67/gal for ethanol/prem in Bergland on 12/02/2014.No binoculars,but the clerk was watching us.................lol
