Ski Doo 850 loss of power

2018 Ski Doo 850 will not rev past 7000 and has really no power. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Also sled was getting about 4 miles per gallon today.

Are you running old gas or maybe got bad gas. I know Polaris will cut lower the RPM if it senses poor gas quality to protect the motor

I haven't ridden 2 strokes since the 4 strokes came out but this would be my guess too...detonation sensor kicked in

Just thinking out loud here; I would check your Oil supply. If the mileage is that bad the engine may have been trying to compensate for a lack of lubrication. After a time the engine will go to a Limp Mode to save itself.

maybe add some more info, as in how many miles on motor?
2 strokes can need a top end at some point,
can you do a compression test?
how do plugs look?
how old is fuel?
any back firing?

I would also check your clutch(was not getting to top end, maybe 50 mph at best, had to rebuild clutch) belt, plugs (I had a plug electrode come lose, you could barely see it until you pulled it and visually looked at it close up)

I ride a two stroke and those are the things I would check.

How about the simple question, were any warning lights on at all? My 850 had an injector plug come loose and making intermittent contact it would drop a cylinder and light would flash on and did produce a code in computer.

My Arctic Cat did same thing and it was a fuse by the ECU. It ran 1/2 power drank drank a lot of gas. Worth checking. Not familiar with Ski Doo's though.

My buddy had the same problem with his arctic cat one year because he was plugging his helmet into the power supply and the cord came off his helmet and shorted out the fuse at the time we didn’t know what was wrong with it and he brought it into the dealer they charged him about 75 bucks to replace the fuse

My experience with skidoos is they are temp sensitive. If there's not enough snow getting kicked up in the tunnel, they'll overheat or throw a code before other brands. So I agree... any codes or flashing lights on the instrument cluster?
Common when trying to ride early in the season or not in it's ideal conditions.
Wouldn't account for the fuel consumption though.

Just got it apart seems to have lost a plug. One spark plug has absolutely no spark. Thank you all for you suggestions

Probably fouled out when it pumped in the oil during the summarization process. I would still pump out any old Gas in your Vehicle and add fresh Gas.

Don't hear that too often, fouled plugs pretty much a thing of the past, 2 or 4 stroke

From what I’ve heard the plugs are not fouled they are just failing. Skidoo was claiming 3 years or 6600 miles is suggested time to change but they have been failing before that.
