Ski Doo Track Wheel Covers, why no other Manufacturers?

Noticed that Ski Doo has used plastic covers over the mounting bolts on their track (idler, bogie) wheels for years, why don't the other manufacturers do something similar?

It appears that they may help to keep snow & water out of the bearings somewhat better than leaving the "sealed" bearing exposed like on other sleds.

Attached a parts diagram showing the cover. #'s 25 & 45 in the picture.

They're actually rubber, or at least, rubberized plastic, and they flex. They press into place and stay much the same was as the rubber seal that covers the zerk fitting on trailer axle bearings.

Thanks for the pics Russholio, appreciate the help.

Another question for you or others with Doo's, any chance you can tell me what the diameter is of the opening on the wheels?

The diameter of the black cover for the opening is 2" exactly. There is a small lip on the, so the opening appears to be a touch less than 2" or about 1-7/8 or 1-15/16".

I always keep a few extra Caps on hand. I have a whole Box full of Polaris Wheels I have picked off the trail over the years. I think the little Caps on the Doo Wheels save the Bearings. I hardly ever find a Doo Wheel on the Trail.

Yeah, I'm looking into fitting some type of cover/cap on the wheels on my Polaris to lengthen the bearing life. Appears I would need a cover with a diameter of 1-5/8" to fit into the opening, not an easy find so far.
