Ski Doo XP vents

I bought a new 2011 XP out of the crate the end of last year, after looking a little closer I noticed that the hood vent and exaust vent
Have no type of screens covering them, there just open and snow could get in there easy, the vent on the right side facing does have a
A thin material screen covering it, but the other two have nothing. Is this normal? Or when they put it together out of the crate did they
Forget to install the other two? Anyone? Thanks

Sounds normal to me. The only screen type of material on the XPs is over the air intake. Attached is a front end pic of mine. I never had any issue to snow ingestion including mountain riding.

THat's typical. If you want to cover the hood vent, and add some additional venting, there are plenty of aftermarkets out there. I've installed venting on mine using JC's Custom vents http://jcscustomvents.com/

thats all I needed to know, I just thought it seemed strange there was nothing there, all my other older Doos at least had the chicken wire type
screens on all the vents. Thanks guys!
