only that NO oem has been able to keep a 1000 twin bottom end hold together very long.

Boy getting old can't remember exactly but something was going on with doo 1000 sdi could not disapate heat causing failures so doo discountinued. Then 800 etec came along & had more hp than 1000 so seemed very logical choice.

Have had a 1000 mach before ,2005 model. At i think 6000 miles the crank did go out, was replaced by ski-doo. we had 4 in the group one had crank issues of course it was mine. Overall good sled, havent heard of crank issues after the 05's. They quite making them for one reason, werent making money as its a limited market. Very plush ride and has some real power. Stock 170+hp, not sure what the 2014 800 etecs are rated, my 2011 800 is 160hp. One guy in our group has nitrous on his to this day and has sprayed umtine bottles thru it and its hasnt blown apart yet somehow. When you get them dialed in they are pretty unbeatable to this day in a drag....stock vs stock. a good running 800 doo/cat/polaris will beat them in 500-700 ft, but go any farther and thats where the mach really shines if she's clutched and geared correctly. Its kind of a pig in comparison to the new sleds tho, minus 4 strokes.

I've never owned or ridden one, but I know there are plenty of guys on DooTalk who don't feel that sled is one of Doo's best efforts, either.
