Just a word to the wise, if you guys want to get on Chris's good side, leave your cans at home! He has a general disdain for loud pipes and for the people who don't realize its a major issue as far as land closure. Not to mention you will usually loose power anyway, and you will need all the power you can get at 10k+.

Not sure who Chris is? Hope he likes my SLP Can. it is so sweet sounding at full throttle. Actually it is not very loud, Braaaaaaaaaaap. Braaaaaaaaaaap!!!!!!!!

Don't worry, this is not my first rodeo. Are you going? I need someone to stand post over the sleds. Are you in?

My new 800 E-Tec sounds pretty sweet on videos I've been watching... its in at the dealer I just have to go to the Keweenaw and pick it up. But if its anything like my 600 E-tec then I don't have worry about making anybody mad with excessive noise. I bought a MBRP can for my 600 but never put it on because I figured why possibly lose HP at high altitude when I only have a 600 anyway. My thinking when I bought it was the weight savings difference between stock and MBRP but back when I got it the E-Tec was brand new and there was not many people running them and some where saying they also had other issues with cans and the new E-Tec's. No issues just have to take care of a sensor. Long story short I have for sale a brand new in the un-opened box a MBRP can for the 2009, 2010, 2011 600 E-Tec machines, anybody need one?

I know why Chris at Mountain Meadow prabably hates the loud cans... His house/cabins are close enough to the main trail and trailhead parking area that he hears loud cans all day and it takes away from the serenity of the area. They do sound sweet though echoing thru the mountains!!! O.K seems to be a trend... BRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPP!!

He hates them because they cause land closures and he HATES land being closed period. They are under constant attack up there from the x/c whiners--I mean skiers, and the number 1 thing they whine about is noise. Its not like he going to give you a bunch of crap or kick you out of the place, I just know its one of his pet peeves and if you want him to stack wood for ya and possibly sell you fuel, having a loud can is not the best way to get on his good side. Just some friendly advise from a guy who's ridden with, talked with, and stayed with Chris many times. He is one of the best dudes up there and you definitely want him on your side, because if you have to spend the night on the mountain for some reason, he is more than likely the one who's going to come looking for you!!

I can't believe I haven't picked it up either, even though it just came in a few days ago. I have been so damn busy with muskie fishing and leaf removal (I started a landscape company in June) that I can't seem to break away... Responsibilty Sucks!! I hope to get up to get it mid next week. Living 11 hours away from your dealership is sometimes a pain in the butt. I am thinking about either taking the ATV or doing some hunting/fishing when I'm there so I don't have to just do a quick round trip. I need to pick it up soon because all this money is burning a hole in my pocket!!!

looks like Keith has made Chris mad and he hasn't even showed up yet. Braaaaaaap! Skylar we have no worries on the SLP cans. I suspect Cuzz's sled is so loud because of a cracked exhaust manifold. And welcome one and all to the Romper Room! It's a place where Polaris runs Proud!

Chris, if you are headed through MKE give me a call and we can work out some logistics of getting west. But, if you head up weekend prior to Turkey Day, we will be sitting in a tree freezing our butts off wondering where the deer are....

My buds 900 is a full SLP pipe/can, he gained power for sure. Mine has the SLP can on it, real hard to tell if there was a loss or a gain. My brothers m8 has the Skinz Ultra Q on it, again, hard to tell if gained or lost hp. With his and mine it was about the weight loss more than the chance to gain hp. My brother also has a Straightline y-pipe on his, that did feel like he gained some hp, he had that before he put the can on.

Yep, I know all about that scenario... since all I have is a suitcase under my hood still. I just try and ask other riders about their "can" experiences when I get the chance. Ideally I'd like to ride with another 800R XP like mine but with an after market can before I drop $300 bones on a can that may end losing me HP just for a weight loss... I've also eaten less cheese burgers this year and have lost 15 lbs... that may help. :)

Congrats on the weight loss. I need to drop about 25 lbs, but, I just can't find the will power to do it. LOL.
