Ok just got our bill yesterday and our insurance doubled from $398 to $798 for two 2015 Viper LTX DX's. No claims at all and through Liberty Mutual. They have everything we own insured plus a million umbrella. Wife called them and asked what's up and they said too bad so sad. We are now looking for different insurance! What is everyone else doing for insurance? Been with these guys for ten years with one small claim on a camper awning. What a racket!!!!!

Find a local agent that carries Pekin Insurance out of Pekin, IL. I thought it was too good to be true how much we saved but after a garage fire and resultant totalled vehicle I can vouch for their claim servicing.

We'll see how much our insurance goes up next May.

Ya, I got the same "too bad, so sad" from American Family last spring. They've had our coverage for 20+ years for home, vehicles, boat, and sled. Every year our premiums increased without one claim, ever. So I did some comparison shopping, one local Farmer's agent didn't even return my call, guess we can scratch him from the list. What I found is that they were all pretty close, some were even higher than my current coverage, except one. State Farm saved me about a hundred dollars a year for the snowmobile. I know there's a lot of factors like location, credit score and claims but it pays to spend some time comparing companies and agents for no other reason than peace of mind.

My annual premium for the machine was 242 with American Family, State Farm came in at 140 a year with a $500 Deductible. Collision and Liability Limits are 300K on a Ski Doo 1200 4 Stroke. There's still some companies out there that base their premiums on C.C.'s verses Horsepower. When they see those larger C.C.'s their eyes roll back in their heads replaced with Dollar Signs.

It looks like costs are going up for everyone, there's always an exception but for the most part they're passing the expenses on to everyone regardless of your claims history.

I don't represent this company, however, Auto Owners / Homeowners Ins Co. is pretty competitive. I would recommend that no matter what Co. you may be interested in, do yourself a favor & go through an Independent Insurance Agent. They will have a variety of markets to fit your needs & can service your needs unlike a captive company.-Mezz

My guess is they are finally catching up to your increase in cc's from 2 stroke to 4 stroke last year. No other explanation with no claims.

Don't know why but Liberty Mutual pulled same chit with my daughters auto insurance. They said if you can get a better deal you should do it so she did. lol

Just got my new annual from Nationwide. Down to the 09 Crossfire 800 Sno-Pro. $13.49 a month, 161.88 annual, but no extra fees for doing it monthly. 250/500/250 with a 500 deductible on coll & comp. Stand alone policy, Jim Kelly in Libertyville. He is an advertiser on the site under Northwoods Directory, unique services.

I just do liability on the sleds and quads. I have a $1 million umbrella policy and added a unscheduled recreation vehicle rider to that for $17 a year. I have been doing this for about 12 years. Figured what I save on full coverage over the years would more than cover a total loss at this point. Never had enough damage on anything to make a claim anyway. I am with Auto Owners.

Just got a call from our agent at Liberty Mutual saying don't drop us yet, we're working on it. I think he saw how much we pay to them each year for all our things and he got motivated. We'll see how motivated he is, lol.

The problem your running into is the majority of Insurance Co's haven't set up there computer i.t.systems to recognize the difference between a 2 stroke/4stroke.. Traditionally Insurance Companies had a premium threshold of 799 cc and under for standard pricing, and for a 800 cc and higher, you'd get surcharged... now with 4 strokes having cc's exceeding 800, the Insurance Co computers don't recognize the 2 stroke/4 stroke difference in power....we as sledder's know that a 1049cc 4stroke is equal to a 600cc 2stroke, but the Insurance Co's computer system doesn't, so you get a higher premium with a 4 stroke (unfair)......the man hours and cost far exceeds the demand to fix (not enough sled insurance business) so when your getting a higher cost for coverage on a four stroke, this is why....I have 1st hand knowledge.
