Sled Talk ( AC's new line up )

Well it seems that the world of AC is spinning " sideways" while they try to deliver the new line up. Looks like snogoer hammered them ( don't care for SG anyways ) and they are delivering sleds with hiccups.... reverse not working, staples showing, delay in turbo's ? and on and on.... Any thoughts ? Just as they were on the cusp of delivering something that looked progressive tech wise. I must have missed the LE 800SP cut off date for a reason ? My sno-mo-guardian angel looking out for me ????

Just for the record, I'm non biased. own 3 different sleds.

I think they marketed the turbo in the new chassis (more than the new chassis).I dont think they expected to sell the % of turbo sleds they did.Their are a lot of people waiting for the turbo sled too show up but its the third week in October.I dont have the seat staples showing on my XF800 their underneath. The air intakes bridge up top,and some people now think their a hole in the dash.I had to pick up mine in mid September.I was hoping to wait till mid November I love snowmobiling, but I am not one of those guys that can afford to sit in the garage with a six pack and talk to my new sled.I have to work to pay for this stuff.I will have plenty of time to "bar talk" this winter.

One thing that I am confused on how did Arctic Cat sell this many turbo sleds? It didnt work for Polaris with the FST.Is it the easy mods to make the 2 to 3 hundred HP?Reliability of the 4 stroke with mods?

I was going to buy one then remembered all the times I was burned in the past with 1st yr toys and passed. I could have sold it for more than I payed but made my self a promise yrs ago [ultra]and if you cant keep a promise to your self who can you keep one to?
I am sure the issues will be minor but you never know .I think some of the delays are from parts vendors in Japan having to deal with bigger issues than AC. If all looking good mid to late season I may still have one will be test riding one over new years.
I have got to say I have gone over a xfire BC with a fine tooth comb in my buds shop and saw major no fit and finish issues .

To me Yam top of fit & finish list & AC on bottom. I hope AC gets a handle on this can't afford another Firecat warranty cost problem. Just my 2 cents.:)

I don't see why people are in such a hurry to get a sled they can't use for atleast another month? Don't know anyone who has one but I'll say this, they sure did look nice at all the shows and I'm one that would have never considered a cat will probably be looking that direction for my next sled.

I talked with our local dealer ( the 1 that I trust ) and they said the turbo's were solid until people started dinking with them. According to what they had come back to their shop from a warranty standpoint. I have read that AC is only running 10% of the capacity of the turbo which I would believe. That is why guy's ( D & D for example ) can crank them up to 270-300 hp ( per Dynotech specs ).Our local dealer had 1 in the shop last april that they were still trying to problem solve... it was highly modded.

I did read that the new chassis " pushed " thru the corners ??? Might be with the Turbo due to weight but I would love to ride an 800 PC SP. I thought that the older twin spar chassis were easy to tune for my needs.

I also picked up on the LXR's coming without e-starts ??? That would tick me off , that is the only reason I would order 1. They had some pre-production reliability issues ( allegedly ).
I have also been burned by a 1st model year deal, I ended up being ( feeling ) like a consumer guinea pig. May be best that I missed the window of opportunity last april. I really wanted the black/black retro with the old el-tigre style decals.

First year is bad.
Any one still have the sweater that Cat gave you
when they took the hydraulic brakes off your Tiger?

Wel I stated in another forum about the 03 Firecat being the first year, but its most sought after year of the F7s.I do understand the first year comment though.Everything can allways be improved on.
The electric start was a bad deal.Last minute oops it dont fit?I have only been sledding for 4 years now owned or own about 5 different sleds one of every brand they all seem to push in the corners without some tweaking for your riding style.I do still have my 2010 renegade I will say out of the box that Ski Doo is pretty darn good.

it is after the doo 800 has been out of the box for a few yrs when you have to worry.
and yeah the turbos can be tweaked just as ez as a 2s and that is part of the prob.
to many people you can bolt on a intercooler bigger turbo and drive it like a stocker and those are the same people who moved to 4s because there 2s did not last because they could not tune those either.
I will say I have gotten some steels in my day from guys who could not get there big bore to run correct or keep a set of pistons in it for more than a day.you start playing with a 4s and don't know what you are doing it can get very spendy real quick.and you know the people will not blame them self it is always D&D sells junk or BMP sells junk [well they did better now kind of] or Suzuki cant build a motor.

Before I end up with my foot in my mouth over HP statements.... ( I get confused easily ) D&D is getting 190 to 225 just with some simple $200-$300 bolt on mods & ecu flash ect, the 270-300 is something that is more involved and not simply bolt on parts. They had a z1 turbo up over 300 last year if I remember correctly. I kind of `respect their usage of Dyno Tech which is in buffalo ny, they used to be a printed publication way back in the early 90's. Nothing but stand up data from that camp. IMO
