Small amount of pre-mix into truck gas?

Will it hurt anything if I put 2 gallons of 40:1 premix into my truck? The gas in my can for the weed eater is 9 moths old and needs to go. Thanks for the help!

I have done this in the past, have done it recently, and will continue to do it in the future. Split the amount, and do it over time, if concerned. I have no other alternatives to getting rid of unwanted gasoline. Do you?
I try not to let it get old before I burn it, and yes my vehicles are new.

i just drained 3 gallons of 50:1 amsoil from our older snowmobile and poured into my truck, I also filled the truck with fresh gas and drove it, I have done this with boat gas in the fall and what ever old gas I have. I have never had any issues, I have also heard that a little oil in your gas is good for yor auto.

I also been doing this for years with no problems. In the fall with left-over boat gas I'll put it the my truck and top off the tank. Never even notice any smoke.

I have done this yearly. Old gas , premix gas, ect... Even dumped some pre mix into my mower, never noticed a problem.

I run premix in everything. Never bothered anything. I suspect my 32 year old KMart push mower I bought new for $90 expects it. I changed the spark plug once back in 1994. You have no worries.

Never had a problem, always dump my leftover premix in my vehicles, to darn expensive not to.

It wont hurt the motor in your vehicle but there is one thing on your vehicle that wont like it if you get to carryed away and that is your oxygen sensor.

The most I have done was about 6-7 gallons of 50:1 into a rental Pathfinder. I didn't realize at first that I was doing it into a nearly empty tank (thought it was over half full) When I realized the tank was empty I went straight to the gas station and filled it up, surprisingly it ran fine the whole way to the station... I regularly put 2-3 gallons into my personal vehicle when I will not be back up north for a while with no ill effects

Not only can this kill at oxygen sensor, but it will coat the catalytic converter contents (name of which escapes me at the moment) and eventually cause it to fail.

Having said that, probably can get away with it if done little and rarely.

I would not hesitate to use it in the lawn mower or non-catalytic equipment.

So you have to ask yourself.....do yah feel lucky punk...well do yah? (Why take the chance???) What does replacing those things cost compared to NOT using it in anything with a converter?
