Snap-on franchise - input needed

Ok, who has experience with Snap-on franchises? I'm interested in buying into one...potentially...maybe... I need to do some research first. This is my first attempt at research as I know a lot of the John Dee family may have some insights.

What are the good, bad, and ugly things I need to know?

I used to read up a lot on Garage Journal, there's a few guys on there who have Snap-On franchises. From what I hear you have to be really dedicated to make some good money, and it's very easy to lose it all if you're "that guy"... Customer service is key...

Thanks Indy. I will do some reading on Garage Journal. I found a few reviews through Google but am also aware that Snap On may prohibit former franchisees from discussing their experiences....

I don't have experience with Snap-On, but I did have franchised routes working for me in a dairy in Philadelphia. What got them into trouble was truck repairs, receivables, and payables (falling behind on company payments). Those would be three things I would want to know in great detail before I bought in

Customer service is very important with lots of hours & as many sales calls as you can make each day. You do have to be kinda pushy or you will hear "Nope don't need anything today." Most auto techs own their own tools so you will be trying to sell to them while they are under pressure to complete a job. Lots of hard work with lots of hours not an easy job by any means.

I finance some trucks for Snap On guys and most of them do pretty well and are easy to get approved. Like anything, I'm sure it's what you put into it.
