I'm not looking to get rid of any of my sleds, just weighing out my next toy purchase . The price of the kit is crazy. I can pick up a real nice sled for 6g and a good used dirt bike for 3G . I can't see that kit ever being worth more than 2g.Somebody has to pay for the r/d,but its not going to be me.

If these bikes can side hill that good that would put a whole new meaning to back country. Logging roads & power lines would be boring on these things, more like ravine riding from river to river or picking the steepest lines through wooded hills. Man i wish i could afford the timbersled kit.

you are exactly correct!! getting close to a ravine isnt scary on a bike it is exciting..."wonder where this goes,... it looks steep.... perfect!"

here is my experience, when I started my first build thats what I thought, they dont need that to be that much, then I built a few, my prototype kits that I have quoted for this upcoming year have $2400 just in parts, not including cnc machining and cutting services, and my kit is the simplest most basic design of any of the kits.

you can do it on your own with used parts and 200hrs of fab time (yep that much), or you can buy something that is proven, tested, and reliable. 5k-6k is well worth every penny for a MH kit. or you can pay 6k for a 2010ish couch with skis that will get rode maybe 20 days of the winter IF we get good snow, and you could buy a separate dirtbike for 3k. then you have insurance on both, tune ups on both, winterizing and summerizing on both, storing both, trailers for both and room in the garage for both,

So where can a guy get the info on fabbing one himself? I cant see the $6k but I have a full fab shop, just been trying to figure out the geometry seems to be the kicker. I think my 300 KTM 2 stroke would be an awesome snobike, power to weight is why we run them in enduros and harescrambles all summer. Plus with the ATP carb out in August, EFI is a non issue.
