Snow removal equipment

Just wondering what you guys clean up your driveways & such with. ATV, truck w/plow, end loader, snowblower, shovel, hire someone?

I use a JD skid steer, shovel near the buildings and walkways & snowblow a path all around the house, past the chicken coupe and between the garage & shed. Thought came to mind last night when I started the JD up. I hate the sound of a cold start diesel, always sounds like something is about to disintegrate.

I use a New Holland LS180 skidsteer with a 10 foot snow bucket that works great. I also use my '02 Dodge Cummins powered p/u with an 8.5' Western plow. Even though they're kept in the shop i always plug them in for about an hour before use. Maybe the sound you hear is a John Deere thing (couldn't resist)..LOL...

I do plug it in, but still diesels make noise when cold. Hydraulics are a bit slow too until the fluid warms. Had a plow on a Bronco at my last house but the driveway was long & straighter. Here driveway is shorter & forks off to shed so I kept the skid steer & sold the Bronco/plow.

Pay someone for camp up north and a Jeep Wrangler with a 6'6" Snowway plow at home love the jeep short with a tight turn radius.

An old '79 Ford (Erickson) CL340 Skidsteer. I bought it a few years back to do work on my lot up north but then started using it at home for snow. I'm in town so it's probably overkill this winter but sure earned it's keep last season. 30 minutes driving the beast wins out over wrestling the snow thrower for an hour every time. It was cranky when I first had it but with a tune up and electronic ignition installed on it's air cooled Wisconsin V4, it starts easy and does just what I need.

no question about it .I pay to have it done it is priceless to have 1 less thing for some one to bust my hump about when I am out of town riding.
best part my guy lives on my street. when he rolls out he drops the blade in fr of my wife's stall clears to the street so she can get out and finishes on his way home . by then usually snow has finished.I have a 2st blower but have not used in yrs

I've got a Ford 8N with a blade, a sportsman with a plow, and a JD LX188 with a 42" blower. So you'd think I'd be OK. But everytime I am away and it snows between my wife and kids they break\get stuck\can't start any or all of them. So I also call a friend with a truck in those situations.

For 15 years I have been plowing with a Honda Foreman and a manual lift plow, and I enjoyed it. The last couple years I have also been plowing my neighbors driveway. This year I am using a new Poo Sportsman 570 efi with a windshield and winch, so no more manual lifting. Man, I liked plowing before, but it's even better now. I may be spoiled now.
