Talk to my dealer yesterday they knew absolutely nothing besides it not coming on there next shipment. The not knowing when you may get your sled is very frustrating. They told me I can get my deposit back so I am going to look for a sled if I see something I like I may just buy it. I may try a Polaris 650 if I find one,but that's the hard part finding one.
hermie, although I am not a powersports dealer, I am an outdoor power equipment dealer and we are feeling the same woes and believe me I feel your frustrations. We are still waiting for winter product we ordered back in April and should have received in July, and like your dealer we too have been telling customers... we know nothing. Because we have heard it all, trust me and the best thing we the dealer can do is tell it like it is...we just don't know and it is I'm sure equally frustrating for us/them as it is for you, not only are you out a sled, the dealer is out his revenue and potentially a customer. The situation is very ugly and in my industry they are predicting issues all the way into 2023, order requirements and policies seem to change daily for next year. The situation for everyone right now flat out sucks and in my opinion the best thing and I'm sure they all are doing this and as frustrating as it may seem to the consumer is to be honest with the customer and unfortunately "they knew absolutely nothing" is truly based on what they are being told.

Just received an email from my dealer and Polaris that my shipment has been delayed from 12/15 to 12/31. I'm hearing it's the 7S gauge that is causing the holdup due to microchip shortages. Bummer!!

lovemydobe, can I buy me sleds back? LOL

I'd be a little concerned about the fact that they are offering you the ability to cancel the order because you have waited this long and if they are "expected to ship" by dec 31st.... in the whole scheme of things whats two more weeks?

I actually think it is good PR. Can you imagine if they offered nothing and said to just accept it or lose your deposit? People would scream!

I snow checked a Polaris 850 XCR 128". Dealer called me friday, said that the sled won't ship now till sometime in January!! Even then it may still come with no 7 S display or possibly spindles. He was calling ALL the people that snow checked to tell them the same thing. If you haven't talked to your dealer then you will probably getting this same call....Also told me the great news that all Polaris sleds are scheduled to go up in price next year by 20-27%!! Can't believe that Polaris isn't going to do anything for us that ordered a new sled and now aren't getting them....

I agree, it's better than saying nothing at all, but in my business I have heard promise after promise. I just find it ironic that there is a new ship date which is only 2 weeks away and an option to cancel on the same page lending me to think Dec 31st is a longshot, for their sake and the people waiting I hope it holds true. But you are right and if they deliver, it was very good PR. Fingers crossed for those that are waiting!

I know of one dealer that has a lot of inventory and that’s Houghton Power Sports, i think he has about 60 units between skidoo and Polaris. No one else seems to have much of anything.

Took a chance and wanted something different this year so Snow checked a Polaris. Mistake. notified now March of 2022!!!

Bought 2, 2021 Doo's last year....no problem with delivery. Know Doo is experiencing some problems this year as well, but nothing like Polaris.

World is a different palce now, but labor is equally to blame versus parts. Just wish Polaris would have been more honest and forthcoming, and not wait until now to drop the news on people!

Yes the supply chain is a train wreck right now. I am a electrician and it's amazing how hard it is to find something as common as a breaker. I bought a zero turn in September and ordered a mulch kit and still nothing. I am not blaming the dealer or Ski-Doo just be nice to know yes you will be getting your sled or be told we don't believe we will have what we need to build your sled. The way things stand hard to find a sled at a price I am willing to pay so will just wait it out.

What model and engine did you order?

I'm not holding out much hope of even being able to ride my snow checked 850 RMK Matryx Slash 146 this season as my delivery date has been moved to February 18 or later. Still have 2 sleds for the 3 of us so looks like we will be taking turns on who goes.

Ordered an XC 650 129"....Wisconsin dealer.

Just bought the last 22 850 TNT Doo from dealer...complete with all parts and ready to go, only exception is no DSS until spring. I will take delivery of the Polaris when it comes, but will most likely sell that at a profit.

Spoke to 3 different multi brand dealers past few days, and all stated that there has been a run on any remaining sleds, especially Doo's, with soem still having a few 21 Polaris models, though limited. Since Polaris dropped the snowcheck bomb on people last minute, last week, all 3 dealers in essence commented that "the Polaris failure is the best thing that has happened to Ski Doo, both now and for the future". All are concerned about Polaris sleds going forward.

I am involved in the logistics and freight business, and we actually do work with Polaris. Polaris, from a supply chain and logistics planning standpoint, seems to struggle compared to others, like Harley and a few other recreational and leisure companies we work with. Personally think this is management and labor related, and also think that the reason they are now so far behind is due to more labor issues, not only product. AND, sled production lead time is far more then any other segment, including watercraft, so I have concerns they could not secure product or change or expand sourcing, or at least know long ago that issues would prevent the snow check sleds from being completed by sometime in winter.......And, would be nice to have been notified prior to December 13th that sleds will not arrive this winter.

And yes, I know all areas are struggling with product and materials, but somehow Ski doo, and perhaps AC and Yamaha, were able to source and complete most sleds by now, or have them 99% completed very soon.

The whole supply chain issue is a result of one thing IMO. You can't get people to work. Pay them more to not work and scare the heck out of them with Covid-19 and guess what? They stay home. It just snowballs from there and hits almost everyone in one way or another and it is a domino affect.

20% increase makes these things out of touch for lots of people. Already ridiculous prices as is (saw a Mach Z listed for $24,000), I predict huge down turn in sales in vehicles sales across the board from people saying no way.

Agreed with both of the above responses.

I respect Polaris as they are a good company, with proven results, and know things are tough. I am just miffed at the failure to honestly communciate until 12/13! No way did they not know they could not meet production in a timely manner. AND, still no method to the madness, as to why some identical sleds were built, and soem were not, and why some (small number) of non snow checked sleds have been produced and have arrived. May be prior AXYS body work, like the 600 SP, but still!

Labor, or lack of, is the underlying problems, so admit it. Prior contact within Polaris Engineering (RAZR division) told us that they asked all office, management, engineering, support, anyone, if they would like to work on the various Polaris lines at multiple locations, at double time.......and almost no interest or extra help stepping up.

no kidding, I have no idea where people are getting the money. I listen to a few Financial podcasts and the truth is most people are broke and living paycheck to paycheck. As far as parts shortage, I think the OEM's are concentrating on SXS's I can only imagine the profit margins on those things right now.
