VILAS, ONEIDA, LANGLADE, FOREST, LINCOLN AND MARATHON COUNTIES...HAD ZERO DEATHS THIS YEAR...THAT IS AMAZING CONSIDERING THE LENGTH OF SEASON WE HAD, AND THE AMOUNT OF RIDERS ON THE TRAILS...IT WAS A GREAT YEAR!!!

IN FACT THERE WERE ONLY 3 DEATHS IN ALL OF NORTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN!!! (ONE EACH IN IRON, FLORENCE, AND PRICE COUNTIES).

Polk county had the most snowmobile related fatalities with three
Sawyer, adams, and chippewa had 2 each.

Bayfield, Juneau, Vernon, Winnebago, Walworth,Fon du Lac, St Croix, Racine, Jackson, Columbia, and Dodge each had one death.

23 total deaths in Wisconsin this year.....still too many...However...after so much bad press the last 15 years, I am proud of my snowmobile riding brothers and sisters...who made this year, one of the safest on record in north central Wisconsin!! I say CONGRATS!!!...and let's make next year even safer!!

Seems like some riders drown going thru lake ice but we had ice early & hard. Another hazard is being hit buy cars & trucks at roadside crossings & most of those accidents were older riders. I stop & stand up @ each road crossing scan left & right then cross. This one thing scares me since soooo many older riders have been killed at crossings in the last 10 years & made an impression on me.

This is great!!! Great for the snowmobile world, a positive thing! I have a thought and let's here others, with the very cold season were people getting off the trail earlier than in past seasons and maybe not staying in the bar as long? Because when that sun went down the nights would get real cold! Or maybe we as people are actually getting smarter?

Vilas made trail corrections not sure about other counties but something good happened? With all the snow opening to close it is very good that death took a holiday this entire season!:)
