Snowmobile Fire - Land O Lakes

Coming back Friday night, I encountered a snowmobile on fire on the trail. They got it pulled of the trail just enough.
About 6 miles south of Land O Lakes.
6S on the power lines, just south of E.
Everyone was ok.
Fire department was on the way when I left.

Someone walked away from a sled filling up in Tower, MN 10 days ago, sled started on fire, nothing left but a motor core..... Nobody got hurt on that one.

Saw one burn down in Price County a few years ago. They burn like crazy and then the gas tank goes. As stated above, nothing left except the engine.

Correct.
Engine was labeled rotax, and looked like trailing arms on it.

Ive come across 7 sled fires on the trail through the years. 6 were ski doo's of that vintage and one artic cat.

Yeah, well, my wife and I encountered a fire such as that. That Cat caught fire right at a road crossing, eh! They didn't seem happy to see us there. Seems most of these fires come at the end of the snow season for some reason?
