Snowmobilers and Casinos

I'm wondering if anyone can give me table games conditions (blackjack etc) at Lake of the Torches casino and Northern Waters casino in Watersmeet. By table game conditions, I mean can you even find a seat at the blackjack tables in the evening with all the snowmobilers showing up to do a little gambling after a day of riding.

I've heard thru the grapevine that both these casinos cut back on their number of gaming tables, and at times last year in the height of the snowmobile season it was difficult to find an open seat. I'm wondering how things are this year.

Good question, as much as I like it at L.O.T.T., table games are hard to get a seat at.
They do not open enough based on demand and then there is a fast cut-off about 10PM (mid-week) when they go dead and they close em quickly so you better be there to get a seat.
FYI; terrible players there, so if you are superstitious about idiots hitting 16 vs. a 2-6 dealer up card (or staying on 12 vs. dealer 10) play elsewhere.
I play V.P. until a seat opens up, V.P. paybacks are decent even at the quarter level.

Another FYI, they have some of the best Walleye on their buffet when it is on the menu.

Stayed at LOTT the last several years, and never had trouble getting on a table. The only issue was they never had enough Craps dealers, so would only have 1/2 the table open all night.

Totally irrelevant but I live about five blocks from the Rivers casino in Des Plaines, Il and the table minimums start at $25 a hand. Who has that kind of money to blow?

Average house win on a Blackjack bet is about 1.5% or about 38 cents on a $25 bet. Better than a slot that is in the 6-7% range.

I guess what you're trying to say is that blackjack tables don't make a lot of money for the casinos, so they aren't in a hurry to open more tables. They'd rather you put your money in the mindless machine games that don't require dealers. Sorry, but "slots" do nothing for me.
