Snowmobiling at Sunrise, video

With our snow in Wisconsin reduced to a Big Dirty Ice Cube I've been looking for ways to fill my free time until it snows again. I picked up a Helmet Cam right before Christmas and have spent the last couple of weeks learning how to use the thing. Filming is pretty straight forward, moving files, transfers, and uploading is another thing.

So here's my first attempt at a Snowmobile Video. The Cam is a Swann Free Style which has a few more features than the GoPro, but both are very similiar. The trail is a straight stretch of Railroad Grade in Outagamie County, Wisconsin. I might add that this is close to where the famous Indy 500 lives and I'm sure he's been on this same trail many times.

This was recorded on New Year's Day morning at sunrise. As you might expect there were no other riders out at this time, just me and the coyotes as the sun came up on the first day of 2013. Again, this is my first vid so don't expect to see deep powder, jumps, and crash's etc. besides that's not my style, I like them smooth and flat.

I'd like to thank Skiroule for the technology help, thanks buddy you were a big help! The video runs about 4:50 in length and I hope you enjoy it.

Rush Hour?</SPAN>

Love these rider point of view videos – they let me do a little riding from my desk. Have to use the headphones though, although the 4-strokes seem a little quieter. Nothing like being out in the early morning frost chasing your shadow. I was impressed that you checked a couple of times at each intersection.</SPAN>

Hard to believe that nice white stuff is almost gone. Trails around home are done until we get more snow.</SPAN>

Very Cool Gary!

I KNEW I'd get to ride with ya someday! :)
All we need is some snow again,... and you can
start to master the cam!
Maybe throw in some music behind it too!

:)
