Snowmobiling in MAINE

Just wondering if anyone has ever went out to the state of Maine snowmobiling? How was it, where did you stay,etc, etc. We have gone out West to Yellowstone, been to Canada, Minnesota, upper and lower Michigan, just looking to try something different again. Not interested in back country riding or boondocking what ever its called these days, we ride on the trails and put on miles. Thanks for any info.

I rode out there over a new years back in 1999 or 2000 when I visited my brother who was stationed in Maine along the coast as a navy pilot. We drove up into the mountains to the Jackman area. It was really nice. The Rangeley Lakes area as well as the Moosehead lake area are all very scenic. There are not a lot of stops. We even went up to the canadian boarder and took our picture in front of customs. Take a look at www.mesnow.com for more info.
