I guess everybody has a different opinion of good conditions - look at the trail cam picture.............
That's where "this past weekend" part of my post comes into play. Today =/= this past friday and saturday. I am well aware of the current melting.

This December looks really bad... As a weather enthusiest and snowmobile rider I have some skills looking at weather models.

Theres a storm hinting at 192 hours from right now that could bring a healthy 8-12 inches. Keep in mind its 192 hours out and could change. This is for the UP.

Theres just nothing stopping the constant flow of pacific air that keeps bringing in these warmups. Instead of pacific storms crashing into the NW of the united states I see them crashing into northern BC and dragging warm air with them

No this isnt global warming either... its just the lack of the right dynamics.

Yes I do.... those were the days.....

Heck, I remember playing out in the snow on Thanksgiving! Get up, watch parades on TV, go out and play in the snow while chow was cooking, come in cold and wet and smell the bird in the oven, have a beer.....well, maybe all but the last one.

Somebody needs to go build a 14,000 foot mountain range in MO,keep that gulf air moving to the east of us before it goes north.Or maybe we can ride there then

I guess the best way to sum this up is do what Ron White suggests" If life gives you lemons, make some lemonade and then find someone who has been given Vodka and have a party!

Very disappointing here in N.Lower as well....I've got a 500/720 that I'm itching to pull the trigger on and a Jag 340 for my daughter.

Just one of those things.

We all remember things being bigger and better in the past. In all honesty it isnt true though. We have detailed accumulations and temps going back to the mid 1800s and the winters have actually gotten snowier over the last 30 years in many/most spots in the continental united states. The 1910's were some of the worst winters for snow... followed close by the dreaded 1950s.

It might not have happened EVERY Thanksgiving (never said it did), but it IS true. I'm not old enough to have completely lost my mind.

Maybe it's gotten snowier in other spots of the continental U.S., but certainly not here in the Detroit area. I couldn't tell you the last time we had snow on Thanksgiving. Heck, we don't even get flurries in October anymore.
