Socks.......

I find it kind of surprising that so many people have to wear special socks or two pair of socks. I know everybody is different, but generally speaking if you're wearing the right boots, you shouldn't need anything other than regular polyester socks. In my case, I've worn Baffin and Klim boots with regular socks and have never gotten cold in any condition, unless I'm ice fishing. Then I go with wool or heavy polyester and stand on cardboard.

Not everybody's feet are all the same. Poor(er) circulation and other factors will determine what is needed to be comfortable. My oldest son could literally wear cowboy boots while riding in -20F temps and his feet would be toasty warm. Everybody is different!

Thanks everyone--

I failed to mention that as a child I got severe frost bite while hunting with my dad. I recall telling him I could not feel my feet but we just kept on hunting...Things were different in the early 70's...When dad said you were fine you were fine....;-))

Irish Setters are my sled boots 1200 Thinsulate.....

Ah yes, once you get frostbite things are never the same. I have three finger tips that get ice cold when the temps are only in the 40s because of frostbite damage, I can only imagine having that problem with my feet.

There ya go.I hoped someone else my age went through the same thing.Times were hard I guess.Didnt want to hijack this thread. So to an end I really like The Merino wool socks out today.

I remember the bread bags and Moon boots!!! So funny, gotta love the 70's. Anyway, I just wear whatever wool sox I happen to grab under my Sorel Glacier pac boots. No worries about cold feet, I just hope I don't ever have to walk out with those clod-hoppers on!

Wonder bread bags were the best! It was a status thing to get those. Only for the rich kids. I got the day old un branded bread bags.
