Each summer about this time I share some video from an event just down the road from us in Neenah, the E.A.A. AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It's one of the largest Fly-Ins in the world, truly impressive if you like to be up close to aircraft and the people who fly them. This year's event runs July 20th through the 26th. The first clip is the promo for this year, the second clip has the highlights from last year. Both are safe for the workplace, enjoy!

This year marks my 35th year visiting the airshow. Even though I go virtually every year, I always find many things I haven't seen before!

Oh drat! This will be my 53d year missing that show! Never attended the show, never mind doing the fly-in! Ye gods! How have I let that happen!

A B-52 Stratofortress bomber, powered by eight massive engines, landed just before noon at Wittman Regional Airport.

Though B-52s have made fly-bys for the EAA conventions before, this is the first time the historical bomber has landed in Oshkosh.

When it landed, we knew why EAA organizers brought it in early. It’s huge! Its 147-foot wingspan is just 3 feet narrower than the runway.

“So there’s not a lot of wiggle room there,” EAA spokesman **** Knapinski said, “so they wanted to make sure to get the aircraft down early, get it parked, get it into position so that when the big influx of arrivals come in for Airventure everything is set up and ready to go.”

Great day on water watching the air show.
Awesome watching plane after plane fly right over you. We did get there early and saw f-35 arrive!! Also watched that huge Airbus 350 make some amazing turns, would not have wanted to been aboard that. Also cool to see a sky full of skydivers!!! (112) hope they all made down safe.

Few pics

Nice job on the pictures, that Airbus is too big to describe. We were out there on Monday with plans to go out again on Friday or this weekend.

Been on my list for almost three decades ever since I learned about while spending time in the Waupaca area. Always something coming up or I am spending too much time debating which day to attend and not miss the aircraft that I want to see in the daily air show, then I end up talking myself out of going. But I know I will go some year that is for sure.
