I'm so sorry to hear in your journal today that Huck passed away last Wednesday! My sympathies to you, Nora and Grace. I am a huge dog lover and know how they become one of the family. There is no doubt they are man's best friend! Their time with us is way too short and I wish they had a much longer life span. I look forward to your tribute to Huck this week, but I know I will have to get the kleenex out again. Huck was very fortunate to have such a loving family and lived as good of a life as a dog could. God bless!

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your pet John, my condolences to you and your family,
thoughts and prayers headed your way, here is something I came across that I thought was a nice poem

OUTSIDE HEAVEN’S GATE
I’ll wait-
I explained to St Peter
I’d rather stay here
Outside the pearly gate.
I won’t be a nuisance
Never was, I won’t even bark
I’ll be very patient and wait.
I’ll be here-
Chewing my celestial bone,
No matter long you may be
I’d miss you too much
If I went in alone
It wouldn’t be heaven to me

Sorry to hear of the loss of your furry friend John! I say that it's the only down-side of having a pet is when we lose them. My condolences to you and your family.

John so sorry to hear about Huck . Having lost Goldens in the past I feel your pain. All your pets had a incredible home and life with you and your family. Another buddy to meet at the Rainbow bridge. Thanks again for this incredible site, all who come hear are lucky and blessed.

So sorry for your loss. The unconditional love they give us makes it all the more difficult.

John, sorry to hear of your dog losses.

Our dog of 16.5 years old was put to slept in Feb 2020 after having a seizure. It was very hard on my wife as it was her dog. She had the dog spoiled rotten. I remember the first night we had our dog. He started crying when we left him in the living room alone. I told my wife don't go to him. He will get use to it. Of course she had to go to be with him and she ended up spending the next 16.5 years sleeping on the couch each night with the dog. The dog would cry and bark until she came to be with him each night. Damn dog wouldn't let us have more than an hour in bed alone before creating a fuss.

Anyway, my wife was so upset at the loss of her dog that a few days later the vet sent us a card with the Rainbow Bridge Poem on it and an imprint of his paw in clay as a remembrance. The vet probably does this for everyone. Here is the poem in case you haven't heard it.
