Thought you fishing guys might appreciate this.
After a two-year absence due to family medical issues, my fishing buddy was finally able to make a trip up so we hit the Canadian side of Lake of the Woods earlier this week for some ice fishing.
The fish were hungry and we caught a lot of fish, but although the calendar said it should be spring, the weather was anything but spring-like. Below zero temps and snow made it feel more like January.
Each night when we got back to the cabin, you could have used the fish to drive nails. We figured it would be at least a two-beer wait until they thawed enough to clean so to avoid it being a four-beer wait, we laid the fish out in front of the wood stove to expedite the process.
Usually, you’d expect to find a dog lying in front of the fire.
