You guys have been great with the info. I had to get a new phone anyway so ended up getting the crackberry flip phn thingy. I was really looking at the EVO but I couldn't handle a phone THAT smart. According to the gal today, because I have sprint everywhere type plan, like a previous poster stated (sorry to not give you props) as long as there's a tower I'll get service. Obviously with the terrain of the UP I get that I'm not gonna have full bars all the time and it's gonna be spotty...but should be able to at least get some form of reception in certain areas.
I'm gonna follow ranlam's directions to the scary shed/Green Acres pole if nothing else!
