Sprint service in northwoods

I have thinking of changing to sprint cell phone lately but worry that the phone will not work when Im up north. Mostly around iron and vilas county. I had their service over 10 years ago and it always shut down around tomahawk. Is this still the case or have they improved? I currently have verizon and my phone works for most part with a weak to middle strenght signal. Would like to save some money by switching but wont do it if sprint is still dead up there. Thanks for any info.

Sprint doesn't even work in S WI. I doubt it works in the northwoods.

I tried it for a weekend here halfway between Milwaukee and Madison, 4 miles from I94. Was worthless. Returned it and stayed with Verizon.

Sprint never worked north of Tomahawk/Woodruff. When I had it up to a year ago, it was always roaming with very little signal bouncing off of 3rd party towers. Partly why I went to Verizon this year, much better signal the last couple times I was up there.

Sprint has a tower in Rhinelander and nothing north of here that I am aware of. The tower in Rhinelander is only for holding there national frequency. I would think they have one in Houghton/Hancock too. They have not filled in as Verizon and AT&T have.

Wouldn't use them if you are planning on being up here for any length of time.

Around Tomahawk there is a bad spot or no service. I do not have a problem with it working every other place not a problem. I ride more in the UP and could make phone calls at all the places we were at.
