st germain ice races

Thinkin on going to st germain for the races. My questions are, is it a drag race or radar runs. How long is the track, and how much is admission. Thanks! .......pic is just for grins

They have radar runs on Saturday, then the 660 Ft Ice Drags on Sunday. While the race is not sanctioned by the MASTERS Racing Circuit, it is a MASTERS Drag Racing Series Points Race. They have a website to answer all your questions. I'd like to be at the races, but the MASTERS has a Snowmobile Hillclimb in Caspian (MI) on Saturday.

Anybody know how they keep water from pooling on track? Lots of slush under lake snow.

The shaved ice track held up well yesterday. It wasn't real cold but the sun wasn't out much. There is also a hardpack track that is continually groomed throughout the day for "trail sleds". It is a little slushy in areas but that is only from the trucks and trailers but the track is in good shape. We will see what happens today.

I thought maybe they sand bagged it or something for 40s & sunny during days to keep water out. Cold last night shoud have set up well.

7 degrees this morning at 5:30 a.m. already up to 20 and it is not 10:30 with the sun shining.
