"STANDALONE" Sled Insurance

So, I've seen many of these threads in the past how everybody has such cheap sled insurance with such and such company. But, is there anyone out there that has reasonable sled insurance as a STANDALONE policy? Meaning, you only have sled insurance with that company and car and homeowners insurance somewhere else. If so, I'd love to hear names of companies that write reasonable standalone sled insurance polices. If you pay $75 a year for full coverage but have your car or homeowners policy with the same company, I don't care and don't need to hear it. For various reasons, I'm NOT interested I moving my homeowners or auto policies now but am looking for cheaper and better sled insurance on standalone policies.

I thought I had all this figured out a couple months go when I had everything requoted. I'm under the gun with my sled insurance coming due and the good rates I was given from the new company double when written without auto policies also. I know I asked about that back in September, but either the person didn't know or for whatever reason didn't quote it that way.

Thanks!
Dave

I have a stand alone sled policy with Progressive. I only add collision when I ride the sled so that keeps the rates down. You can change coverage at any time online or by calling.

Nationwide, although my trailer was also on it but made no difference in the sled premium portion of the policy.

My 2016 switchback 800x is 390 a yr and my 2013 switchback 800 is about 225 through American family ,I don't own a house any longer and my ex wife screwed my credit rating so I guess that's why it a bit higher but not to bad

I just got Allstate stand alone on my 2016 M8000LMT with full coverage $500 deduct for $380 a year!
I have been shopping for ever! $580 was the cheapest and most were $8-900 a year!
I get a new sled every 2-3 years and ran with no insurance on a sled ever!
I only off trail so I don't worry about hitting someone on a trail! just Skylar and Eric in Da woods!
I worry every year and especially when out west in the mountains!
Sooooo now I'm insured and a brand new sled so you can all blame me for a crap season!
We did the Hiekki Lunta dance at Krupps and that hasn't done Jack yet!

Years ago State Farm took my stand alone policy. It was three or four years later that I transferred everything to them and still have them.

Thanks guys! The on line Nationwide quote seemed way too good to be real. $346 a year for 3 sleds full coverage. ('02 AC Touring 4-Stroke, '09 AC TZ1 & 2016 AC Pantera 7000 LTD) I got a call from an agent this morning and the real number is $355. Something seems amiss here, but now I'm looking for a local Nationwide agent to deal with...and maybe find out what I'm missing? This is less than half of everybody else I've checked. If it sounds too good to be true....?????

'14 Pro RMK 800 155 $216.50 State Farm. Full coverage. Whatever that means. $500 deductible. Have not registered or got insurance on the new '16 AXYS RMK 800 155.

Nationwide for me was 1/3 the cost of Progressive and many others.

Seems some insurance companies are viewing four stoke cc's same as two stroke cc's.

BTW:

after I bought Nationwide sled insurance I checked auto and they were half what I had thru Safeco, 12/24 my Nationwide auto policy goes into effect...have property insurance elsewhere.

If you do it all online it might be less than through a agent.

I just got a quote from Andrew at Met Life that was recommended on the other sled insurance thread. I will not post numbers as there are too many variables. I can tell you his rates are VERY competitive and he was very responsive with regards to getting back to me. He is definitely worth checking out. I got a stand alone snowmobile quote, but he also gave me an auto quote that at first glance appears to be competitive as well.

I found Nationwide way better as well when I went with them. I switched my home and autos to them after one season with the sleds. Everything is written as two separate policies as that is the way they do things. I’ve had claims on my autos go through them and everything was very smooth. I was skeptical changing to a larger mainstream company but it’s been a good experience. I’ve posted it here before, but Jim Kelly is my agent, he’s in IL so he may not be able to sell to you. He is an advertiser on the site, left side, Northwood’s Directory, unique services, Insurance and you’ll find him. Even if he can’t sell it to you contact him and let him know you got his number from here so he keeps his ad going.

Well I will say. I have had State Farm for over 25 years and they are competitive on EVERYTHING but sleds. I have two houses with state farm, two motorcycles, my truck, trailer and Corvette with them. I wanted insurance on my two 2016 Skidoo XRS 800 and 800X. With a 250 deductible they wanted 497 for the XRS and 468 for the X. After getting raked over the coals by them on my Vipers, i called up Andrew Trevar from Met Life. Super nice guy! The same coverage as State Farm and prices were 148 for X and 168 for XRS. I switched over! I would highly recommend him!

I didn't go with the on-line insurance. I found a somewhat local Nationwide agent that I went through instead. I'm old fashioned and this was enough of a leap with insurance. After selling the '02 sled, I'm paying $299 for the other two (2009 AC TZ1 & 2016 AC Pantera 7000 LTD, both 2-up touring 1050/1049cc).
Liability : 500k/500k/100k
Medical : 5,000 (didn't have any before since we have good medical insurance through wife's employer)
Collision & Comp : 250 ded/250 ded
UM/UIM motorist : 500k/500k

Still smiling. By the way, I called that Andrew guy above. He called me back a few hours after I made the payment to Nationwide, so I never got a quote from him. I was I a hurry with old insurance running out and on my way to pick up the new sled.

I had to go to a stand alone. My wife has an in home daycare and few companies like to insure those. I'm using Foremost, Just liability, $97/yr.
