This is for Wisc. I know that deer season is still on but now that there is snow can they go out and start setting up the base?

Can't say for others, but Sno-Eagles, Eagle River has put out a blog for volunteers to help clear trails since the storm. Evidently there are trees and limbs down everywhere, so don't know when they will start. Last year they started panning a few days before the opening. I can't remember the year, but they did open up early 2-3 years ago because of so much snow and little to no hunters in the woods.

Watersmeet a lot of trees down they said it was done but the storm a week ago knocked down a lot of trees. Not worth riding and I usually ride in anything

I'm in Burnett County and we asked and were told no. Just have to sit and look at it for 2 weeks. :( We now have about 19" on the ground, but it will settle some.

Had friends head to Watersmeet but I stayed back to finish plowing. They said they were lucky to be following a group of four that was clearing the downed trees. They said it was not fun so turned around and headed back home.

Hate to be the debbie downer...but I was informed yesterday, that due to the heavy snow (around 20 inches), we have a bunch of storm damage that needs to be cleared, and the heavy snow...while nice to see...is not helping us with the lakes...lakes are not safe after last weeks warm up, and now we have heavy, wet snow on top of what little ice we have...also the swamps and wet areas, have very high water, and they aren't freezing up very well....we need cold weather to get the water froze up...not sure when we will start panning, will know more after club meeting a week from today. I know they are getting crews together to clear storm damage as we speak.
