So we have been gone 8 days so far and finally have truly started the vacation. Left last Friday and stayed at our son’s house in Portage. Saturday we drove to Hanabel Mo. and woke up Sunday to an inch or 2 of snow. It was off to Claremore Ok. Sunday. Monday drove to Amarillo where we stayed until Wednesday which was good because they were having high winds and dust storms. Wednesday it was off to Las Cruces NM. For a few days and that is when it finally felt like vacation. Nice weather and some hiking and sightseeing. Pulled out of there today and are in Apache Junction Az. for the next 8 days. Will try throwing in some pictures and details as we continue. Planning on being on the road until 3rd week of April ish. IMG_6188.jpeg IMG_6191.jpeg IMG_6195.jpeg

No pictures for today but got into Apache Junction yesterday and spent most of the day just doing the mundane things. Did get out to the old Scottsdale area for a beer and dinner before picking up our son who flew with his wife who is the softball coach for Baraboo high school and they are down here for 4 days so will watch they play some games and get some sightseeing in also. Will try to get more pics and keep posting.

Yesterday got out for a little sightseeing and then to watch the daughter in law’s softball team play. Poor girls had to go from Wis weather straight into 90+ weather for there games. But I guess it’s better than playing in the crappy weather. First few pics were from Goldfield ghost town area looking at Superstitious Mountain, last is of the team. Welcome to the area, elf. Should be quite the week in Titletown. Looks like a good portion of the stadium parking lot will be the events stage area. Traffic is going to be a challenge, try to get here early and park it. Plenty to do within walking distance of Lambeau. Definitely do a Stadium Tour, the Packer's Hall of Fame is awesome, the Pro Shop is in the same area. The National Railroad Museum is just down the street about a mile or so. Lots of food and drink, no shortage of that. Krohl's West for burgers and curds, kind of a local watering hole that's been there since Lombardi's days. Viking gear is tolerated but prices may increase for those wearing purple.;)

Oh there will be no Viking gear worn by this family! Born and raised in WI, owner of the team, still on the list for tickets, and we get there at least once a year for a game. We've done the stadium tours, the Hall of Fame, and have spent way too much money in the pro shop! Love the Title Town area and all the bars in the area. The railroad museum sounds cool though, didn't know about that. Its going to be a zoo, I'm guessing 3-4 times more people there than there are for a game, but its most likely the only time the draft will be there so we gotta make the trek!

So yesterday watched more softball and then went up to Saguaro Lake which is part of the Salt River and took a boat cruise. Way too hot to do much else. 96-98ish full sun. Today much nicer weather 80-82 with a breeze and overcast so we got out and hiked the base of Superstition Mountains which was a Nice 3 miles.
