Ya she was crazy yesterday!! I-90 is still closed north of me and all the country roads are yet to be plowed. Sheriff and my fire Chief called last night to ask me to be ready to respond with my snowmachine. Called some other FD guys with sleds to. Thats a first for me!! This is my backyard. It is probably 7ft tall and 60 feet long. Might be able to have a glacier contest in my yard this spring!! IMG_20190224_184400478.jpg

Here is my snow gauge in Three Lakes. It is a yardstick mounted to the top of a picnic table. You can just see a bump on the top of the stick. I'm guessing around 40" and by far the most in 20 years of service. Guess I'm gonna need a bigger stick.

I used my sled to respond to the fire hall the other day as the roads were not plowed. I was in the truck geared up before anyone else walked in.

I wasn't lying about the roads here's the best picture I could do today of the road.

The sled is on the road after dropping into the hole by going over the 8 ft drift behind me. The top of the drift covering the right side of the road is easily 12 ft high. The county came at 4:00 p.m. with an endloader and left after 10 minutes. The county has only 1 snowblower to mount on a grader. The pile is still there right now, and we opened up a quarter mile of road with our snowblower on the tractor to get to our other farm with something besides a snowmobile.

we have had 3 state of emergency's here, past 2 weeks ALL major hi ways closed for 2 days at a time, and didn;t get any snow at all LOL
earlier in the winter, we got one bigger snow storm and NO plows were out and had a total mess, more crashes and smashes, and huge amounts of roads closed due to accidents, the media had a BLAST< blasting our DOT dept, for NOT being prepared(and funny part was every weather man on TV was predicting the 6-8 inches of snow for days, apparently everyone knew about it but DOT and local township plow drivers LOL)
so every storm predicted lately, they been over reacting and closing roads to not get beat on by Media again LOL

but did get ice and rain, which did have some roads a little slick, but way over reacting here when they call for snow anymore

been so long since we had snow, I think most folks forgot how to drive on./in it too!

what ever happen to having some driving skills and using your brain in storms? go slower, pat attention, allow more room to stop and start, remember how gravity rules and momentum plays into things!
and how that a 4 wheel drive vehicle doesn't mean it can stop on a dime or go any where, and doesn't mean much on Ice!!

idiot drivers watch too many TV commercials I think and drive like snow doesn't matter! as long as they have a 4x4 !~ HAHA!
